Le Flamboyant in St. Martin

Hi there. I just booked an all-inclusive vacation at Le Flamboyant on the French side of St. Martin Nov29-Dec06, 2003. Just wondering if anyone has been to this resort and if so, can you please provide feedback/info re: which room to ask for, quality of food, etc. Also, if you have any suggestions re: other vacation spots for next time, I would appreciate that too. Thanks in advance! :o)

Don't stay there! I stayed there in 1999 with some girlfriends and it was the worst place I have stayed in the carribean.

It was horrible service, the property is on a bay and is not attractive. Rooms were very shabby and dingy.

And wherever you stay definitely don't do all inclusive in St. Martin because the french side has the best restaurants with wonderful food.

You will enjoy the island better if you stay somewhere else.

I concur with the AI on St. Martin....this is one place where you need to try the restaurants. The food is excellent almost everywhere you go.

I don't have any info on the hotel.

Okay, I'm sure you won't find the first poster's advice very helpful, since you have booked. First of all, Le Flamboyant is not TERRIBLE. And it's certainly not the worst place to stay. Try to get a Lagoon view room, on one of the upper floors (more privacy). You'll want to get out and eat at some restaurants in Marigot and Grand Case. In this regard, I agree that AI is probably not the best way to go.
You will still enjoy the island if you stay there, just get out and enjoy.

Gosh... JenniferW's feedback didn't make me feel good about the resort I just booked. IslandGrl: thanks for the feedback. You've stayed there before then? I guess I'll just have to try it myself and see what happens...

Why don't you try a search to get other feedback on this hotel. Normally people don't decide on such things based on one opinion only.

Info: Yes, I have stayed there before, my husband has stayed there twice. For more opinions about the resort (which should make you feel better) check out www.where2stay.com. There are a number of reviews on the Le Flamboyant that will give you a good picture of the pros and cons.

The first poster's advice was VERY helpful....Le Flamboyant is dreadful! Obviously you can cancel these reservations....it would be worth it rather than waste money at a hotel that is awful.

There are plenty of other nice places to stay on the French side of St. Martin. I also agree that you should not do all inclusive since there are delicous french restaurants all over.
