Ladera on a beach?
We stayed in Ladera in St. Lucia and although we like this resort what was missing was a beach and isolation. To get to the beach we had to take a shuttle that operated only twice a day and we found that a proximity to the noisy road took away too much of the charm of this pleasant resort.
Now we are trying to find a resort similar in atmosphere to Ladera but closer to a beach or even better right on a beach and more isolated away from noises of civilization. Is there a place like that in the Caribbean Islands? Thanks for your ideas

Check out Petit St. Vincent & Palm Island in the Grenadines or Peter Island & Biras Creek in the BVIs. If you're willing to go to the South Pacific there are numerous places that would blow you away, but yes they are expensive. Happy hunting!

Peggy, coast doesn't make a difference. As you may know Ladera is not that cheap too. We already visited Bora Bora and couple other places there but we want something closer and for short visit.

Is this the same Lisa that raved about Ladera two years ago??? This is quite a difference from all the compliments you frequently gave out about the resort. However, I agree with Peggy. Try Peter Island resort or Galley Bay in Antigua.

No, I am different Lisa. Anyway thank you for your help and I will try Peter Island resort and others you mention as well. Peggy and Beth would you please tell me more about this place. Please

Anse Chastenet in St. Lucia is on the beach and is missing the wall and close to nature, like Ladera. We stayed at Ladera for three days a couple of years ago (when it was less expensive) and loved it, but still spent four days at the Jalousie Hilton at the end of our trip to be closer to the beach.

Hi Lisa,
Just to clarify Jackie's answer...
Anse Chastanet has both rooms on the beach (although not oceanfront and pretty far back from water) and rooms like Ladera's up on the hill - a hike up from the beach - good physical activity :)
Anse Chastanet is VERY remote and back-to-nature like Ladera, but gives you the beach option you are looking for.
Very good food, great snorkeling and diving...
Also, you might want to look at St. John.
