Hi Linda: We stayed at LaCabana and loved it. The location is great, walking distance to the highrises at Palm Beach and walking distance to Manchebo beach and Alhambra Casino.Loved walking the boardwalk at Palm Beach. We chose the breakfast and 3 dinner show package and it work out great. The pool area is very nice at both areas of the hotel. The casino is were the nightlife is. The rooms are very large and the fridge is great to have, we did not cook to many meals though. I would stay there again. There are splashier places but this is a very nice place to stay.Have a great time and make sure to walk around the Hyatt it is spectacular.Karen

We stayed at La Cabana a couple of years back and also loved it. FYI, in case you are worried about the hotel being across the street from the beach, dont, it is literally 100 feet or so to cross to get onto the beach. Aruba, although an arid island and not very "green" is very nice, safe and the people were friendly when we were there. Watch out for the time share sellers, they are everywhere, just tell them you already have one if you are not interested and they will leave you alone. The pool is great, good poolbar, and large resort. Convenient to also have the fridge for stuff you may buy. Have fun!!!

Karen and Rick are right-- La Cabana
is a very nice resort. It is a timeshare
resort with kitchen facilities. While
we were in Aruba last July, we took
a timeshare tour. We found the
apartments and studios to be very
nice: tile floors, living area and
bedroom areas decorated in
Caribbean style with tropical pastels
of pink, blues and greens. TV in
living area and in the master bedroom. The resort offers studios,
one, two and three bedroom
apartments as I recall. The kitichen
appears to be well equipped with
dishwasher, refrigerator, range, etc.
I believe I also saw a washer and
dryer in one of the hallway closets.
The resort has at least two pools that
I remember-- one of them has a
slide popular with the kids. Speaking
of kids, the resort has an excellent
reputation for their children's program.
Rick is right about the road-- to
compare it with the U.S. it would be
better described as a service road
rather than a regular road or highway.
For more information about La
Cabana, go to their website:
www.lacabana.com-----
La Cabana is within walking distance
of these hotels: Bucuti, the Manchebo, Costa Linda, Amsterdam
Manor. It is also within walking
distance of these restaurants:
the Pirate's Nest (at Bucuti), the
French Steakhouse (at Manchebo),
and Chalet Suisse. It is also within
walking distance of the Alahambra
Casino & Bazaar.
Have fun in Aruba!!
JanGail
Agree with all of the above. It is a good location, the "service road" between the resort and the beach is no problem. We have stayed twice at the resort and although it does draw lots of families, it was always very clean. We'd stay there again. Pools are very nice. Had great prime rib at the Captian's Table (just off the main registration area) and also had fun at the Friday night Caribbean Festival Dinner--lots of great costumes. While on Aruba, think about the Eagle Jeep Tour. It's an all-day tour that takes you all over this small island. Lots of fun!

La Cabana is the place to be. We stayed there 6 years ago and are going back with other families in a few months. The suites are very nice, the grounds are well maintained, and the pools are fantastic! My only complaint would be that they do not have enought cababas on the beach. But besides that, it is my top choice!
