Kayaking and Snorkeling in Culebra, PR
 

I have to share this marvelous experience. My husand and I had the best time kayaking and snorkeling in Culebra, PR this past January. I searched around for a good tour and I found it with Culebra Island Adventures. We went on a 3-1/2 hour kayaking and snorkeling adventure. I've never seen such a gorgeous place to see beautiful fish and coral. We went to Tamarindo Grande beach and swam with huge sea turtles; I could almost touch them. The kayaking was much easier than I imagined and the guides took excellent care of us. Oh and please don't miss Flamenco Beach, now that's one of the most beatiful beaches I've ever seen! Just thought I'd pass this on in case anyone was interested. I always get such good advice on this forum. Hmmm, where to go on my next trip????

SO good to hear! We're on our way to PR next Saturday and since we got such a great deal on our stay at the El Conquistador, we're only making a day trip to Culebra.

Thanks for the great info. We went to Culebra for a week in 2007 and had a great time but have not made it back, although we keep mentioning it. I hope we can get back there soon and I will keep your information on the great tour- thanks again.

Continental Drifter. Make sure you get to the ticket office early. I think the ferry leaves @ 9, you will have to check the schedule. Definitely be in line before 8 a.m. Depends on what day you go, but Fridays the locals that work on the mainland go back home for the weekend and get priority seating. I was sweating bullets waiting to see if I could get two tickets which they finally sold to us at the very last moment and then I had to run to catch the ferry. They start selling the tickets one hour prior to departure, so be in line before 8. There are fewer ferries these days, so we had to use one of the cargo ferries. there are quite a couple of bakeries on the way to the ferry. You can pick up a great ham, egg and cheese sandwich to take with you for very cheap and the are huge and delicious. At flamenco beach the have an eating area where you can buy empanadas, fish, water, drinks etc.

Cdrifter....curious how you are getting from the airport to el con? Will you be renting a car?
