Mariarosa,
I just returned from St.Thomas and stayed at the Wyndham Sugar Bay. The staff there is very very friendly and very fast to serve you. The rooms are very big and clean. The lobby and all the areas are very clean. The beach is small for such a big resort but I liked it. The sand is white and the water is very clean. Eventhough the beach is small it is never crowded. You can always find a nice spot to sit and there are alot of lounge chairs. There are four large pools and the food is very good. I went all inclusive. The breakfast's are excellant!! They will cook your eggs to order. The lunches near the pool are very good. If you go there the hamburgers are great !! I would go all inclusive because you can eat and drink all you want. It's like a cruise ship that is on land. I would go back next year to this resort !!

Kay,
I do not know the name of the section I was in At the Wyndham. I had an ocean view and it was great. The rooms are very nice and clean. If your friends are going there for their honeymoon I would be concerned about the hurricane season. There are plenty of tours your friends can go on while they are in St.Thomas. The hotel has a tour desk that has a lot of information. The Wyndham is a very low-keyed resort. There is not a lot of night life. The resort is more oriented towards families with children. I enjoyed myself there along with my family. Martin

Kay, MorningStar is a Marriott property adjacent to Frenchman's Reef while Sugar Bay is closer to East End. MorningStar would definately be my choice between the Reef and MorningStar since it is beachfront. The beach there is nice but can be cloudy for snorkling depending on wind and weather! Good restuarants (5 of 'em) on property between the two resorts! I am sure your friend will take a trip or two to nearby St. John for the wonderful pristine beaches and she should also take her passport so that she can enjoy a daytrip to the BVI's. Many people enjoy the Baths but there are other destinations that are wonderful too - but the best part is the sailing to get there!! Dive with Chris Sawyer (sawyerdivevi.com) and snorkle at the great spots on St. John. Dining out is a treat with loads of choices! Hurricane season is first of June thru end of November but the peak is end of September early October. August is a risk but going anytime during that period is so she should have some trip interruption insurance! She should consider a car rental to tour the island and some agencies allow the car to be taken to St. John on the car ferry - others don't.
