Mike and Eileen, First of all we stayed in Grande Luxe Oceanview Room, Room 16 to be exact, located on the bluff above a Sundown Oceanview Suite. Loved the location, on the bluff very quite, great view. We would get up every morning and walk over the Armando's for breakfast which was the best. The bluff area is newer and quiter and nicer. The pool area is great, quiet and great view. Again depends on what interests you have. We liked the quiet atmosphere. Would spend the day on the beach and then go to the pool at Armando's. The pool at Piton's is even quieter. We did not go to the main pool or eat at Pavillon. We do not like buffet meals and that pool was quite the party pool, lot of activity. The thing about Golf that is so great is that you can pick and choose. It offers you whatever atmosphere you want. Quiet or Crazy. Just by choosing the restaurant, pool, beach area enables you to choose the atmosphere you want. We did not golf because it was just too warm when we were there. And to be honest with you we just were enjoying the beach and relaxation so much that the only thing we did was work out in the am at the fitness area on the bluff (air conditioned, other one not). We enjoyed the spa, I made reservations about a month prior to our arrival. Surprised my husband with an "after the sun soother". He loved it. Staff wonderful there. We also made our dinner reservations prior to our arrival at the 2 and only restaurants you can make reservations. Mario's at Halcyon, did not care for at all, very disappointed, staff not very nice. Kimono's which we absolutely loved. Sit in tables of 10 and had a great table, met nice people and had a lot of laughs and saki(spelling?). Other restaurants not able to make reservations. Armando's was great for breakfast, ate lunch there once and liked also, ate dinner there once also and enjoyed. Pitons ate lunch there alot. We would walk up from the beach, outside, covered dining. We loved it there, staff great, food great. Never got a chance to eat there for dinner, sorry we did not. La Toc ate at twice and loved it. The two nights we ate at Halcyon were Mario's and The Pier, did not like either of these. The transfers however are great. They had a great steel band one night we were at Halcyon so that made up for the dinner we ate. Any specific questions, let me know. Hope this helps.
