Just returned from Royal Decameron-Jamaica

Our family of 11 spend Christmas week at the Royal Decameron Club in Runaway Bay. We found the info we had received from this board to be accurate, but would be happy to answer any questions. Basically, it is a good 3 star resort-not a 4 star, but not a 2 star either. It is a good family destination. We would not recommend it for a romantic destination. Do not go expecting calm, clear water on the beaches. It isn't. The only really nice accommodations are the beachfront cottages. I would consider the other accommodations just OK. The food is good, breakfast being the best. The drinks and bars are good most of the time, depending on which bartender is working. We enjoyed the specialty restaurants and the beach grill, but the wait at the beach grill at lunch is far too long. Only one person works there each day, and they serve a lot of people. Their burgers, pizzas and jerk wings are a nice change from the lunch buffet. The grounds are lovely and well-kept, and the rooms are very clean. We enjoyed our week.
