Just back from The Somerset

My wife and I just returned from 10 nights at The Somerset ( our 2nd time this year) It was just wonderful! We stayed in a 1 BR English Cottage with a view of the lawn and it was perfect. Last time we stayed in an ocean view Sterling unit --not worth the extra $$ IMO. We walk early, have the included breakfast ( very good and enough fruit) , hit the beach/pool, have cocktails in the unit ,freshen up for dinner and it's dark at night --so oceanview is not needed by us. We loved the unit , 2nd floor, 2 full baths, loft with 2 chairs and a desk, Viking kitchen, marble everywhere...wonderful!
We are big chillers so we read, walk, swim and get sun --that is it! We rented from Grace Bay Car Rentals, excellent service, $39.00/day, older Toyota but, fine! We went to the new IGA ( Graceway Gourmet) FANTASTIC, new . clean and had all that we wanted. Picked up snacks, vodka, Tonic, limes , beer, and wine . We ate the included breakfast as I said, had lunch most days at LunaSea at Somerset-excellent Burgers, Pizza and fish sandwiches-wonderful staff -shout out to Alex and Jonathan! We also walked to Somewhere on the beach ( Coral Gardens) for lunch is was good. Also walked to Bay Bistro next door for excellent fish & Chips for lunch!
Dinners--our best dinner ( twice) was O'Soleil at the Somerset, under the stars, Daniel & Nadine singing and wonderful food!
Coco Bistro-great setting, excellent fish.
Caicos Cafe-always excellent, wonderful specials.
Bay Bistro- Conch crepe apptz. to die for.
P 23 at The Regent Palms-very good , excellent setting and Daniel & Nadine were singing there too!!
Conch Shack-for casual night
Mango Reef(twice) best menu
Magnolia-Tuna !!
Thanks to the great staff at The Somerset-love Eva for making our reservations and the fantastic O'Soleil staff remembered us !!
We shoppped around Saltmills, Regent Village , drove to Chalk Sound etc to look at Villas But, really just chilled...back in Feb 2010 ...already counting the days!!

So my wife says I forgot a few things: We were met at the airport by a Somerset Repr. who made sure we were greeted by our car rental Co....Grace Bay Car Rentals, yes he was there , signed papers and off we went. At Somerset we were greeted with cold towel and a cold drink. They walked around in the afternoon with cold scented towels-very refreshing at the beach!
Weather was fantastic, a sprinkle ( refreshing) one day for 5 minutes at most.
Gym is very nice, clean and we used it once, who wants to be inside?? Computer for use by guests in lobby area. Very nice upscale shop in lobby of Somerset (Sell Vinyard Vines--my fav, picked up a bathing suit) and great shops next door at Regent Palms.

Sounds as yet another wonderful trip to The Somerset.
It is my favorite property on Grace Bay.
We also think that the English Cottages are a great find.
So much space and the layout is wonderful. We like the second floor ones with the lofts.
O'Soleil is one of my favorite places to dine and it is especially fun to go when there is live music.
Can not wait to return next year ourselves.
