June Vacation

I'm looking for advice on an island to visit the end of May into the first week of June. Are there some that are better than others at this time of year, or should we avoid the caribbean all together?

Thanks,

BostonBowtie

Certainly no reason not to go to the Caribbean at the end of May. If you are concerned about hurricanes, they don't really kick in until late summer. Some islands begin a rainy season in June, but that usually just means a few more showers. As for what island, you need to give some indications of your interests.

We are going to Negril Jamaica in late May. I have been told that there is usually a short shower in the afternoon but nothing to cancel plans. I wouldn't worry about being rained out. Just check for several places & then decide.

Bowtie...definitely depends on what you like to do on an island. Some are laid back and some are fru-fru. Some are both depending on where you stay. May is a great time in the islands, and you can save a little $ too. No hurricane worries until later in summer/fall. Let us know what you like to do and we'll help some more. We love St. John (spending the last 2 weeks of May there). If you like snorkling, hiking, nature & the like...it might be good for you too! Trish
