Jumby Bay question
 

I am planning a trip to Jumby Bay, however, there are five of us. We really would like a villa, so we can all have a common living room to gather. Has anyone rented a villa? Can you tell me anything about them, mainly location, how close to the main beach? Which one? Thanks, I know that there are JB experts out there!

Nothing at Jumby is directly on the main
beach. Look into The Pondhouse Villas, overlooking the water, they may even have a small beach, these are privately owned
and I think can be rented part of the year. The Harbor Villas are on their own beach.

Thanks Penny. Can you tell me where the Pondhouse Villas and the Harbor Villas are located and are they a far walk to the main beach or beach bar. I am assuming that most people spend their time on the main beach. Not sure of the set up at JB. Can you explain. Thanks so much.

The Pondhouse Villas are at the far end of the main beach--its not a far walk. If you check the hotel website the big red building at the end of the beach is the Pondhouse, the villas are to the right of this structurre. The Harbour Villas are much further away, you would have to use the golf cart that goes with the villa. Check the website to see if they have a map, or ask them to send you one. Its hard to explain, the best way is to view the Jumby island map.

I will be with my husband, 19, 18, and 14 year old. I already know that there is not any nightlife. We are truly beach people and do not need much. However, my 19 yo would like to dive, he is certified, can he go out from JB, or would he have to do to Antigua? We usually go to T & C, and have also been to Anguilla, Cap Juluca, is JB in line with these other places? Also, do you know how long the main beach is? Like CJ? My husband is a runner and loves long beaches. Thanks.

I have also been to Cap Juluca many many times-I walk Maunday's Bay every morning. Jumby's beach is not as long, but there are lots of walking paths, and roads (no cars on the island) so it is a jogger's paradise! You can go all over the private island. As far as diving anything can be arranged thru the main desk-a boat could pick him up at the Jumby beach dock.
We are beach people too! Jumby's beach is very tranquill, calm water, although not as clear as Cap Juluca. We just got back from Anguilla, we are combining Jumby and and Cap in early Feb.

The snorkeling, if you are into it, is far better in the T&C but much better than Anguilla.
We found the dining at Jumby to be better than most of the places on Provo and in 2004 Jumby was better than CJ. But chefs move around so it can be hit or miss.
T&C beaches and many on Anguilla were better than Jumby but overall appearance of Jumby landscape was lovely after the hurricane demolished the resort and it changed hands and they replanted and it has grown a bit since then. Hope this helps.
