Jamaica - weather in May?

I am considering a trip to Jamaica in May but wasn't sure what the weather was like? Has anyone been at that time?

Traditionally, the later in the month, the rainier but weather system this year shows totally unpredictable season this, who knows what next. First week May is generally great weather.

JAS,

We went earlier this year, the last week in April/first week in May for 12 days. It rained once.

When I say it rained - it really did rain, we sat on our balcony at the Jamaica Inn and watched the rain travel across the harbour. After 10 minutes of rain we sat and watched the rain dry - much more fun than watching paint dry, especially with a Rum Punch on hand :-)

We were in Jamaica the last 10 days of May 2004. It rained just about every afternoon but most days just for a few minutes and was clear again each night by sunset. We only had one day out of 10 that it rained most of the day. The I wouldn't hesitate to go again in May.
