Jamaica To Do's!
My husband and I just booked a vacation to Jamaica for Dec. 4-11 this year. Neither of us have ever been and I am wondering if I could get some ideas of things to do and see while we are there.
FYI: We are staying in Rose Hall area(Montego Bay)
Any tips, pointers, ideas are much appreciated!! Thanks so much!

Here's the tour operator for your hotel.
http://www.jamaicatoursltd.com/
But, if you search on-line you can probably find cheaper.

Montego Bay Travel Guide: 242 real travel reviews, tips, and photos from real travelers and locals in Montego Bay, Jamaica at VirtualTourist
good insider tips from locals
do better self guiding...
My fav climbing Dunn's River falls when all the cruise
ships tourists are not in port very spiritual and uncrowded.
Pretty dodgy lots of ganga pushers in dodgy areas many touts
so be careful if not a savy traveller.
Have fun,

Be careful with virtualtourist.com. Most of their info is way dated from several years ago. Instead check the forums on Trip Advisor. Their info is current.
You're not going want to go to Dunn's River from Montego Bay as it's an 2 hour drive. The YS Falls and Mayfield Falls are much closer.
We are going to Ocho Rios in December. (Have already been to Negril)
Since Montego Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios are quite a distance apart not all tour operators service all areas.

Just wanted to add this link:
http://budgettoursjamaica.com/ocho-listings.htm
They seem to be less expensive then some of the other tour operators and was recommend to me by the forums on TA. I am looking into using them for our December trip. We are going around the same time as your dates.

We are staying at the Jewel Dunn's River in Ocho Rios, which used to be a Sandals.
We actully booked this hotel last year for our 10th wedding anniversary and they closed a few months before our departure, so we ended up in Key West, FL. So now that they have re-opened under new mgmt. we are trying again. I am glad it did work out this way as I am not a Sandals fan, but that was the only property in Ocho Rios I would consider staying. According to the forum and reviews on TA, the Jewel is getting excellant remarks and they have an employee constantly on the forum giving information and assistance. Looks like they are trying to do it right.

You can take the South Coast tour (Black river, YS falls and pelican bar). Another option is the Negril highlight tour that starts from Montego bay ending at Rick's cafe. It includes 7 mile beach, sightseeing, country side tour, local craft market and the light house.
We used Alrick Allen - he's a fun and nice guy and has the best prices for these tours.
