Barbados
Planning on going to Barbados next June. Want to stay in AI cause like the lifestyle, gives me a base for those days I am too lazy to venture out.
The place has to have decent entertainment in evenings and descent food.
Any suggestions

We have spent a week at Turtle Beach and the Waves--both owned by the Elegant group. I liked TB best--decent beach, good food, pretty pools and room had a nice view. Waves was an older hotel at one time and they have tried to renovate it. It still needs work--ugly stair case to the beach and outdoor shower seemed shabby. To reach the pool (very pretty I will add) you have to cross a very busy road. Gym was still being created on our visit. The place that seemed to be really attractive is the Colony Club. I would check it out for a future visit--it probably would be the most costly of the three. There are tours that take 6/8 people to some wonderful sights--Harrison Caves, plantation homes, and gardens--Hunte's was really a gorgeous garden.

All I can say is avoid 'Discovery Bay', the most awful hotel I've ever been to and we only lasted one night (reluctantly) then left. If you have a generous budget you won't be short of nice big resorts to choose from.
