Jamaica - Montego Bay to Port Antonio

Are there any commercial airlines that offer flights. I have heard of Jamaica Express but I have yet to find proof of such a route. If not, how long is the drive?
Thanks in advance!

I think the airport in Port A is closed at the moment.

4 hours or a bit more. 3 from Kingston.

...it is this drive that keeps the tourist hordes away, though...it's well worth the trip, and the drive is really lovely, especially past Ocho Rios.

International airlink has a charter flight only from Montego Bay to Portland. The cost is US$630 for a maximum of two people (one way). I do not think this includes the airport tax of $6 per person.
Their website is www.intlairlink.com

TIMAIR also operates a flight to Portland from Montego Bay. The cost is $525 one way for 1-4 persons. This does not include the airport tax of $6 per person.
I'm not sure if they have a website. Their e-mail address is [email protected]. Their number in Mobay is 876-952-2516.

Air Jamaica Express is no longer in operation. However you can fly over to Kingston on Air Jamaica from Montego Bay and then drive over to Portland. The cost each way is J$ 4,077 which would be about US$65 or thereabout.

International Airlink also has daily flights between Mobay and Kingston. I'm not sure about Timair.

Maybe Tivertonhouse can say whether Ms. Barrett offers a "ferry/charter boat service" between Mobay and Portland ?

If driving, I'd plan on 5 hours MoBay to Porty (and be prepared for potholes)
and 2.5 (3 if raining) Kingston to Porty. Carolyn Barrett, currently waiting still for shipment of one part
for her new boat and her mechanic to install, might well be an interesting
way to go, if you're not on a tear to
get to Porty. [email protected] The
Adventuress sleeps 6 plus crew. If you're a snorkeler/diver, she's also
a pro for the North Coast.

Indeed. Any idea as to the possible cost of going via Barrett?

Her day rate for 6-8 hours, including
licensed captain, crew/cook, lunch and drinks is US$585 for 1-8 guests, US$85
each additional up to 12 people. How
fast or leisurely, depending too on
the winds and currents, you want to get
from MoBay to Porty, is best negotiated
on the time/cost factor, as well as
overnight accomodations/dinner and breakfast on board.

It was here, in this lush land of reef-blocked beaches and palm-shrouded mountains, that movie stars and European royalty used to arrive by helicopter and by yacht to spend the winter months ensconced in their villas. Errol Flynn bought thousands of acres near Boston Bay, Queen Elizabeth once checked in to the Frenchman's Cove Resort, and Robin Moore reportedly wrote "The French Connection" at his house near the Blue Lagoon, the 200-foot-deep cerulean pool where a teenage Brooke Shields famously went skinny-dipping.

From an interesting article by the NY Times on Portland :
