Negril afficionados can be classified as cliffies or beachies. While both ends of Negril have their charm, if you can steer clear of those hideous all-inclusive dumps, I prefer the beach. Cocolapalm, Idle Awhile, Charela Inn are some good places to stay, although there are many others. If you want some better info on Negril, post on the www.negril.com message board for info.

All-inclusive?

Beach or cliffs?

I've been to Jamaica 3x in the past - absolutely adore that country much more so than any of my trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Cayman, and the Bahamas. We're heading off the Negril in about 12 days for our honeymoon! We're soooooo excited - my fiance has never even left the US before!

Couples Negril is an all-inclusive located on Bloody Bay. Its really rustic/tropical looking with a fantastic pool and swim-up bar. Not a "party hotel" at all....mostly couples on their honeymoons, anniversaries, etc. Has a piano bar and other nightly entertainment. This is not a cheesy all-inclusive like Sandals, etc. Their beach is stunning, with crystal clear water as far as u can see. My parents spent their 40th anniversary there in 2004 and raved about it for months afterwards. I have tons of pics....email me if u'd like to see them! [email protected]
