Jade Mountain

Please let me know you opinion on Jade Mountain. (I know there are a lot of stairs and I know they also offer a shuttle service to the beach.) How are the rooms? Will I get painfully attacked my mosquitoes in May? How is the food? How is the beach? Is it private? Snorkeling? Can you compare the resort to any other place? Better than Cap Est Lagoon? How about Biras Creek?

Thanks so much!

Mosquitoes are not usually a problem at Jade Mountain because the rooms are so far up the hill, though some Anse Chastanet rooms can have mosquitoes. I don't think you can count on being completely safe, but it's unlikely they will be a major problem. The rooms are really lovely and luxurious, but they still don't have a/c, TV, or phones.

Rooms are exquisite, but very very expensive. There's a pool to supplement the in-room infinity pools.

Snorkeling here is really good here because you're close to the Pitons and a reef (you can do shore dives as well), but the beach isn't the kind of powdery white sand you find in Anguilla; it's not too rocky, but kind of coarse.

You are using the Anse Chastanet beach, so it's not private or restricted to Jade Mountain guests (all beaches in St. Lucia are technically public, but a mile-long purposefully rutted road keeps out most people from the resort).

I've not stayed at Jade Mountain itself, so I can't speak for the food, but the food at Anse Chastanet has always been pretty good, and I expect they have upped the standard for this luxury enclave.

But I'm not aware of any beach shuttle (jsut all those steps), so hopefully someone here can confirm that.

I can't answer all the other questions, but the room at Jade Mountain are incredible.
I have never seen such beautiful rooms..overlooking the pitons..at one with nature.
I want to stay in one of those rooms just for one night, if I could afford it.
and yes there are a lot of stairs.

We just returned from Jade Mountain and it was better than expected! I do not have any complaints and I will certainly return. Please let me know if you have any specific questions regarding Jade Mountain.

How were the evening temps for sleeping in May with no A/C? Thinking about booking this for our anniversary next year. Thanks!

The evening temperature is fine. You do not need AC. (And I am an AC baby!) You will love it there!

Great to know, thanks! I'm booked for next May. How was the food? Did you try any of the restaurants at Anse Chastanet?
