Items to bring from home?
I read on a trip report that someone spent $25.00 for a one time use disposable camera in Grand Cayman. It is making me wonder what items I should be sure to bring from home that I may not have thought about?
Also, is it expensive to rent videos or is that something I should bring?
Thanks!

I usually take a last minute trip to Walmart to get our underwater cameras, batteries, sunscreen and any other toiletries and over the counter medications we will need for our vacation. These items are always very costly on vacation.

I also managed to bring some snacks over. Like granola bars, breakfast bars, candy....things of that nature that I guess are light to pack and you typically could purchase in a chain pharmacy. They are double to triple the original price than in the states. You can save some money that way.

Any toiletries you can bring the better. Sunscreen and lots of it, bug spray (you may or may not need it) Underwater cameras, film (if you use it) Any OTC medications. I buy sample packs of almost everything you can imagine, because you never know. And some imodium or tums can be costly.
My biggest things is to tell people to bring and inflatable raft, not blow up of course. We rented them at the hotel for $12 per day and When I do back I am bringing my own for sure. I would bring a noodle at the very least. They can both easily fit into a suitcase or soft sided duffle bag

I agree about bringing any toiletries you might need. We also brought 2 rafts and loved having them. Mine had an opening for your feet to hang into the water and I would paddle out to an empty mooring buoy and pull it through the opening to use like an anchor so I could read my book and just soak up the rays - it was heavenly!!!

I'm a notoriously light packer and most of my travels are domestic business trips, so some of my suggestions might not fit your needs.
I use small containers for most items, shampoo, shaving cream and the like. You can share a lot of things... everyone does not need their own bottle of shampoo or tube of toothpaste.
I don't even travel with a hair dryer and never take my own towels or pillow. Try to combine and downsize where you can. That makes room for things like an extra camera or raft. You'll be certain to forget something but you can minimize that by planning the way you are.
Don't forget to have enough of any prescription meds in appropriate containers.
