Island Suggestions Anyone?????
Hello everyone. My husband and I took a cruise last April and fell in love with the Caribbean! We quickly found a love for snorkling as well. For this next trip, I would like to stay in a quiet place and spend time on the beach, snorkling, relaxing, etc. We don't care for casinos, crowds, tourist traps. We are also trying to stay on a budget this time, so airfare is a concern. Thank you, in advance, for your replies. Take care.

Hi Mark & Stacey:

Where are you departing from? Has HUGE impact on airfares :-)

Look at Viva Clubs Club Fortuna Beach (www.vivaresorts.com) - it is a nice all inclusive in GB Island. There are also some GREAT values in Playa Del Carmen and Playacar, and Also the Western coast of MX (the Baha) - depends on where you will leave from. Do you want a hotel, resort or condo?

Travel Buff
VIP Discount Travel

How about St. John in USVI? You can get a condo at a reasonable rate (check out Cruz Views), it's a quiet island, beautiful beaches and good food. Snorkling??... one of the best islands for it! Have fun!

Can you get cheap air fare to Cancun?
If so consider Isla Mujeres-- a small caribbean island 10 miles from cancun.
Laid back , quaint , friendly, low cost and great beaches. We have an 18 page brouchure that we have done ( we spend 1 month a year on the island) and will e-mail to you if you request or visit
isla-mujeres.net
dan and ginny

In response to some of the quesitons, we live in Indianapolis. Also, we are not particular about staying in either a hotel, resort, or condo - as long as it is on the beach. Thanks for all of the responses. I have been looking into all of the suggestions.

I recommend a nice quiet villa on the beach in Barbados - the snorkling was great - we swam with an absolutely amazing GIANT TURTLE and couldn't have had a better time. I've been dealing with CaribbeanWay.com for the past few vacations and they certainly have the best customer service in the industry. I think their phone # is 877-953-7400 or you could look at the vilas on their site (www.caribbeanway.com) - ask to speak to Jazz - he knows it all. I have chosen to become their personal ambassador as they have treated me so well - and always with a smile (at least over the phone)
