Island Hopping
I already booked a round trip flight to Barbados for 14 days.
I would like to visit other islands while I'm there. I'm thinking Tobago, Grenada, St. Vincent, and Saint Lucia. Kind of create a little circuit. Am I leaving any out? Should I book the flights now or can I do it when I get there last minuet? Please help |
Depending on the order in which you visit the different islands, the time of year and day(s) of week you plan to travel you may find there could be a limited number of flights to any given island (sometimes not everyday) and some or all of the aircraft will be small with a limited number of seats (anything from 6 pasenger puddle jumpers to say 36 passenger commuter aircraft). You might also find that you can't always fly non-stop between certain islands so you'll have to do connecting flights. All of this means you'll probably be much better off pre-planning you flights rather than waiting for the last minute to make your travel plans.

I'm no expert but because you are trying to get to 5 islands in 14 days, I'd definitely make my plans from home in advance.

I tried to do this once from Aruba and it difficult and expensive. Not as easy as people think most options we had to fly back to a main hub and start over. I wish you better luck. If island hopping is really your dream I would island hop via a cruise.

I second Suze opinion, if you are trying to get around 5 islands, I would say you have to book in advance so that there is no "cuffuffle" when getting there. :)
