I've been trying to remember one from yesterday. Name has now come to me : Lead Pipe - Barbados. It's kind of like the Jamaican Bulla but it really is as hard as a lead pipe!!
Salt bread is also from Barbados. It's a hard dough bread roll...and it is soooo yummy when it's warm..
Another one from Jamaica : Jackass corn. A really very hard (AND ADDICTIVE!) cookie. Bet you can't eat just one!
Buss mi jaw!! Also in Jamaica. A sweet made of coconut I think that probably can literally buss (break) your jaw! Not really. But it's really good though.

Tiv: I was told Mannish water is so named because it has "male" parts from the goat, cow, etc. Actually we were at the Jamaica Grande and one night dinner was outside buffet style. I saw this name and asked a local what it was and that is what he told me. Was he pulling my leg?

Then there are "drops"
Another coconut sweet - hard dried coconut cut into small square pieces set in a sugary spiced sauce that hardens. This stuff is extremely addictive. You can't just have a piece!

Pink top like grater cake with about a half-inch of gooey pink sweet frosting.
Mannish or manish water does not have
genitalia of goat (that's cow cod soup,
made from testicles). Both are restorative, fortifying, not really
aphrodisiacs but more energy for a long night. Irish moss and roots drinks (esp.those made with roots like
'strongback') are drunk for the same purpose.

JAGIRL, black cake here is also known as Christmas cake and is more of a dark, spice cake made mostly during the holidays. Very good!
Are you referring to blood sausage eaten on the French islands? I love that stuff. Had some of the best I've ever had in Marigot, St. Martin a couple of weeks ago.
We have coconut drops here, too. I haven't thought about them in awhile. Ours are more like a cookie, though.
