island advice for 7 night end of march
Hi everyone,
Planning a last minute getaway with my wife. We are having trouble picking which island then which resort/hotel to stay at, there are so many that look great. Here is what we are hoping to find: - great food - top notch hotel/service- 5 star - nice beach/pool - hotel beach/pool bar - walking or short taxi ride to hang out at some different island bars/restaurants (not totally remote island resort) thanks so much for your help. I keep finding many places that have some of those but haven't found a spot that has all of them. |
Honestly, you can find that on most islands. Since budget doesn't seem to be an issue, you might start by looking at Anguilla, St Barts, and Turks and Caicos.
|
T&C has everything on your list. Check out SEVEN STARS, which arguably is one of the best hotels on the island and easily walkable to many restaurants/bars/ shopping.
|
For some reason I thought T&C didn't have much other than the resorts. Thanks, I'll check out seven stars and was looking at st Barts options too.
|
I'm confused. T&C has everything on your list. But if you want nightlife, serious shopping, historic sites, look at other islands. T&C is all about the beach ( Grace Bay was recently rated no. 2 in the world) and great restaurants.

Definitely looking for some nightlife, not clubby nightlife, but island bars and restaurants etc. and maybe a day or two of decent walking in town/shopping.
We like the idea of some of the high end AI but hate the idea of not getting out to see the island off the reservation. Grace Bay does look gorgeous. |
Agree with Jimmie's list. There are several luxury hotels on Anguilla and Turks. Would add Grand Cayman (Ritz) for a good mix of beach, shopping and fantastic restaurants. If going in May or later then Bermuda (Cambridge Beaches) would be a really good fit as well.
