I was on Provo last December and stayed at Comfort Suites.

I walked to Hemmingways on the Beach and Mango Reef at night for dinner and never had a problem.

TCI is VERY safe. It has one of the lowest crime rates in the caribbean. Still, always be on alert because you never know.

Absolutely. TCI cops don't even carry guns. There really isn't any violent crime here at all.

We prefer to walk with at least a few people walking the beach no matter where we go but you should be o.k. A friend of mine actually fell down a small slope that he didnt see in the dark on the beach and broke his leg-- so make sure you can see where your walking!

i thought it was really safe and never had a problem. someone mentioned that there are wild dogs that roam around the beaches occasionally, and to be wary of them at night just in case. i actually saw them on the beach during the day - they looked like normal, domesticated dogs to me. about 5 or 6 wandered around the sunbathers, then romped off.

For years my husband has walked the beach on Provo at all hours of the day and night. He is not happy unless he walks 10 miles a day. He has never had a problem.

The main danger in walking at night on Provo is the crappy condition of their roads. Be careful in the dark. The shoulder area is the worst.
