Is the Dominican R or Barbados a good destinations?

I will be honeymooning in June and I am trying to decide where. There alot of resorts from RCI that I can use in DR, and Barbados more than any other island. We are 32 we like to kick back one day and enjoy watersports horses zip lining and other adventures activities as well as site seeing. I would like reviews of the DR from people who have been there please.
Please don't tell me to google it I already have but everything looks fun on google. It is not a must but it would be nice if I could rent a car and easily get around myself.
Thank you

I can't help with DR but we loved Barbados. It's a pretty island, flat but very sophisticated and pricey. Great water and water sports but not sure about zip lining? I know that's the deal in Costa Rica and maybe St. Lucia? Anyway, really nice restaurants and good beaches in Barbados.

You even have to ask? Barbados hands down!! You can't rent a car and "easily get around" in the Dominican Republic...you say you googled? I doubt that or you wouldn't even be asking this question!

Really it sounds like you're looking for Mexico.

No zip lining the places you've chosen. Limited water sports in DR and if you want to explore requires serious travel time. (for example, Punta Cana to Santo Domingo is 4 hours). Barbados is pretty big and will probably require transportation for some waterspouts depending on where you stay.

I think Costa Maya (from Playa Del Carmen thru Akumal) has more of what you're looking for.

Based on your other post, I don't think either is what you stated you are looking for.

We went to the DR many, many moons ago. Didn't like it enought to return. You might want to read the forum and reviews of specific hotels on Trip Advisor. DR is mainly for people who are looking for an all inclusive getaway at a large mega AI where everything including entertainment is included. Not much to see and do off property and not advisable without a tour or guide. Many reviews mentioned issues with the food.

From my research, Barbados has lots of nightlife, restaurants and shopping. Kinda reminds me of Aruba with a Jamaica flare, which is why we chose that destination for our trip this year. I didn't find any zip lines or horseback riding there, but those aren't our thing so wasn't really looking for them either. Instead, I found sightseeing, nightlife, shows and water activities.

I agree with Blamona, Mexico seems to have what you stated you are looking for. Nice secluded beaches in Tulum and Akumel, horseback riding, water activities, Mayan Ruins, Eco parks, sightseeing and zip lines. Tons of things to see and do off property, which is why we have been going there for the past 10 years.

Good luck with your search.

There is horse riding in Barbados. Barbados is famous for it's horse racing/polo. Barbados is nothing like Aruba, which is very Americanised and commercialised (but great fun), Barbados is more upmarket esp on the west coast, perfect introduction to the Caribbean. It's easy to drive around Barbados, being a small island and not many roads, with some watersports activities you may find that they can pick you up from your hotel if you ask. There is ziplining too, but not sure how it would compare to a more mountainous island.

Thank you everyone for the useful info I am finding it very helpful.
Thank you Carib_lan for calling me a liar that was very helpful in helping plan my honeymoon everything I look at on google looks great but hearing from people that have been there does help. I thought that was what this post was for I didnt know it was so people with nothing else to do could have someone to be rude to. However the comment of Barbados being hands down better answered my question and would have been a perfect place for you to stop. Maybe today you can volunteer for the suicide hotline and tell people to do it. Get a life Dude. Maybe a girlfriend.
