Check to see if there are any 'rebel salutes', 'bashments-on=the-beach' or reggae headliner concerts this coming Aug within the MoBay to Ochie area
(www.jamaicans.com a good start).In
August, MoBay is relatively quiet -- tho not as sleepy as Bonaire. After the
aridness of the ABC's, you might want to go lusher than Gloustershire and the usual on-the-tourist=strip hotels.
Stay a couple of nights at a private villa or estate in the cooler, greener mountains above MoBay (Winston Churchill's Drambuie Estate, for example, at jamaicaescapes.com) and plan your excursions with a good guide to get the most of your two days. Otherwise, you'll just flounder about MoBay, which, unless you know where to go, can seem charmless.

LOL! tiv says "plan your excursions with a good guide to get the most of your two days. Otherwise, you'll just flounder about MoBay, which, unless you know where to go, can seem charmless."
...and then hugh says
"It's like Detroit, with less charm."
No guide hugh?
MoBay isn't my favorite part of Jamaica, it has a cruise ship port and all that goes with that, but the beaches are nice and there is plenty to do. Take tiverton's advice and stay up in the hills and hook up with a guide to take you to see a bit more of JA - for most people MoBay is the place they arrive and depart, not the best place to stay. Negril is 1 1/2 hours away, the south coast about the same.
