Cartera-
My girls will love the suggestion of getting their hair braided right away to avoid the pestering! Good idea. They have been to India and other Southeast Asain countries where bargaining is customary (and the prices really low). They loved shopping for gifts for their friends and haggling with vendors, all the while having a great time.
We won't mind the vendors so much. I think a firm "no thank you" will do but I was glad to read you didn't have any problems with the drug offers. That could be a bit more offensive.
We're going in July. It is low season but I don't know if there will be a lot of families because of vacation. Any clue?
Lots of little lessons for us all to learn while traveling. You're right about not having that trust experience at the mall!

I don't think July will be crowded - I'm just glad you're not going during Spring Break - although I could be heading back that way this year. Today I suggested Brazil and she said - "only if we go to Jamaica this summer."
