Gorgeous scenery.
Generous friendly people.
Nice beaches. (Especially Grand Anse.)
Not the greatest, but nice.
Aggressive vendors.
Great island tours - spice factory, rum factory, the caldera.Diving/snorkeling just so-so.
Not a whole lot of luxury hotels - if any - but still some really nice places to stay. We stayed at Spice Island. Good food, very friendly staff.
Highly recommend Grenada to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation.

Grenada is an amazing destination ... full of natural wonders and low on commercialism. It's not easy to get there from the U.S., but worth the trouble. Visit my trip reports at www.homestead.com/islandtime/MainPage1.html

It is so nice so see someone inquiring about an island other than the usual Bahamas, Jamaica, Virgin Islands, Anguilla etc. So refreshing! I have not had the pleasure of visiting Grenada yet, but have heard nothing but good about it - lush and unspoilt, some beautiful beaches, a picturesque town (St George's), great local food, friendly people. Although it has an international airport if you are coming from the US, it will be quite a journey to get there but then, it seems, a journey worth taking - you would probably have to fly to San Juan and connect from there or you could fly to Barbados (there are direct flights from MIA and JFK for example) and then connect on LIAT to Grenada Good for you for being adventurous and wanting to tread off the beaten path - you go!
