Insect Repellents: Up In The Aer(osol)

I've read many opinions suggesting that Ultrathon is among the best bug sprays available for tropical destinations, but I can only find it in an aerosol canister.
Aren't these forbidden on airlines?
If so, how do people get this stuff to their destination? Does it come in a liquid dispenser too?

The only Caribbean Island I have ever had a mosquito problem on was last year on Grand Bahama and we bought our insect repellant there. They had some stuff there that I had never heard of at home. Worked pretty good though.

Hello,
There are many Caribbean islands with bug "issues," and I have tried just about everything made under the sun.
I saw the Ultrathon piece also, but haven't (YET) tried it.
Consumer Reports last year recommended Off! with DEET or the Cutter stick.
I just returned from Mexico where I took my large aerosol can of Off! and had no problems with either bugs or airport security. (Bugs eat me alive, so I was happy to finally have something that works
The can was in my checked luggage in a clear plastic bag with other HBA items and was not a problem when my bags were hand searched.

Ultrathon comes in a lotion which you can buy at many places. Check out <http://www.3m.com/us/home_leisure/sc...thon.jhtml>.

Aerosols are permitted in limited quantities. see <http://www.tsa.gov/interweb/assetlib...2-2003.pdf>

You guys are outstanding.
Thanks!
May the bug gods always smile on you and protect you from bloodsuckers (and amoral attorneys).
