Information about Curacao

Hello! We're going to Curacao in June, so we would like to know more about the island. If anyone has suggestions about hotel/resort, diving spot, etc., please answer this message. Any information will be great for us!

I think you will enjoy it if laid back is what you are looking for. We stayed at the Princess which I elieve is under new managemant and has a diferent name. Pretty good but small beach area. You will find the island clean, neat and safe. And when the shops say they close at a certain time they mean it. We were in Phillipsburg shopping when closing time came-around 1800 I think, and it seems most of the doors closed on cue.

We're going to Curacao the first week in August and have decided to stay at the Curacao Marriott.

We found a ton of information about Curacao, places to stay, things to see and do, visitors' trip reports, hotel evaluations etc. etc. at www.tripadvisor.com.

The official tourist site is www.curacao-tourism.com

I was in Curacao in November 2003 and we had a great time. We stayed at three different resorts; Sunset Waters, Hotel Kura Hulanda and the Marriott. Our favorite by far was the Marriott simply because it was directly on the beach. The Kura provided great service, but I love to lay on the beach (or by the pool looking at the ocean) so the Marriott was perfect for us. We did not like Sunset Waters at all so checked out of there early transferring to the Kura. If you'd like to read my trip reports on these three resorts do a seach on each by the name.

If you have any specific questions feel free to post back or email me directly.

Hi, we were in curacao in June 2002. We stayed at the Marriot. I beleive that its one of the best hotels on the island and is located in a very nice beach. We visited several beaches on the island including Knipp (snorkelling right off the beach), Cas abou, Playa porto marie, and Barbara beach. We do not dive so cant give you any suggestions. My favorite beach by far was barbara beach. It was quite a drive from the Marriott but the water was amazing: beautiful, shallow and calm. The food at the restaurant at the marriott (portofino) was very good. Another great restaurant with AMAZING views and great service was Fort Waakzaamheid. Fort Nassau is also worth a visit for the views and food. Hope this helps.
