Info on St. Lucia??

Hi!

Thinking of visiting St. Lucia this fall. When is a good time to visit and how is the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort?

Hi

I was in St. Lucia on my honeymoon last summer and even though I did not stay at Windjammer Landing I did visit it one day and I know people who have stayed there and just loved it.

It is a beautiful resort and the villas are very nice and have their own private plunge pools. I ahve heard the restaurants are great there too. The view are wonderful. It is hilly and there are shuttles that will pick you up to take you down to the beach.

Windjammer Landing is also in the north part of the island near all the tourist activities.

Just returned from St.Lucia and the Island itself is beautiful very tropical and green lots of flowers, very senic so take lots of film and your vidio camera.
The weather could not have been more perfect 80's during the day and 70's at night. We will be back there again! Email me if you like.

Flamingo-
I have not been to the Windjammer either. I was in St. Lucia last year (late May/early June) and went to the Jalousie Hilton in the southern part of the island (Soufriere).

I would say it depends what kind of trip you are looking for. There is a lot of information on this forum about the various hotels and parts of the island.... that information led us to choose Soufriere as it's a quieter, and more beautiful part of the island. We spent one day up in Castries and it is very touristy, busy, crowded.... The beaches in the south are much nicer, the Pitons are there and the background is breathtaking.

As for when is a good time to visit - June was the beginning of the rainy season, but still a nice time and good weather.... Fall might be cutting into Hurricane season - so be careful with that.

Good luck.

When we were there at the end of November in 2000 we were told by the locals that the rainy season ended on December 1st, and like clockwork, it did! We stayed in the north part of the island and even though the majority of our stay was during the rainy season, it certainly didn't rain the majority of the time. The south part gets more rain during this time as the rainforests are located there.

My wife and I were at Windjammer two years ago. We visited both ends of the island and we preferred the North end. It was busy but not excessively busy, there are great places to eat and many things to do. We thought the resort was well designed and met our needs beautifully. The Villas are well appointed and offer spectacular views, we enjoyed eating there but we would not reccomend the "all-inclusive" plan because there are so many good places to explore away from the resort. We felt very safe and comfortable and found the locals to be helpful, fair and generally have a good sense of humor. If you want tips or details e-mail me.
