Info on Jamaica
hi there - any information you'd have on Jamaica would be great...eg. what's a good buy, what's a rip off, tour companies vs. cab rides, stuff like that. We're staying between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. (Falmouth) thanks for any help you got for me out there.

Doug:E-mail me and I'll send you a ssmpler of half, full and more day privately-guided excursions for two, four or more, offered by Carollyn Barrett of Barrett Adventures (see www.jamaicaescapes.com)which will give you more of an idea what's available off-the-beaten track.Falmouth market with all its hurry-hurry is fascinating on market days, generallly Fri/Sat best. The rafting trip on the Martha Brae is pretty tame, compared to Port Antonio's which is best on island. Visiting Bob
Marley mausoleum/site in 9 Mile is only for the avowed fan.I'd go horseback riding/plantation visiting, some back country road trampoosing, depending on how adventurseome you are...

Don't miss GListening Waters - it's right in Falmouth and you can go out on a boat and swim and glow at the same time :)

Liz

Blue Mountain Coffee - wonderful stuff! Can get it at the airport if you don't want to carryit around. Liquor is also pretty cheap.

BARGIN!!

Hey Doug- Falmouth is an amazing town in Jamaica-not a typical tourist destination though so I'm curious to know which hotel you will stay in?
If you want the best coolest drink/meal on the beach go to Time -n- Place right next to FDR Pebble resort (very close to Falmouth)- it's an open air bar on the beach-very rustic and just stunning!
