Inexpensive restaurants on Provo
 

We are visiting Provo at the end of the month and will be doing our best to minimize our food budget. Can someone recommend a few inexpensive restaurants for lunch and dinner?

We'll have a 6 yr old and a 22 mo old with us so nothing exotic. Anyplace on the island is fine because we'll have a rental car (we're staying at the Northwest Point Resort). So far the only places I have come across are Da Conch Shack and the like but I hate seafood!

Depends what inexpensive means? For us inexpensive was the Tiki Hut and it ended up being our favorite place to eat. We ate there three times during our week. We are not big seafood people either. My husband is a big meat eater (loves his steak) and he thought the big ribeye steak he had there was excellent! He had it three times :-) Turks and Caicos can be expensive. So for the two of us for dinner with his big 22 ounce steak and the chicken dinner that I had plus two drinks for us was about $55.00-60.00. Which compared to some places we went was inexpensive for a dinner. I am sure lunches would be cheaper. We never really had lunches. We would have our breakfast at the hotel which was free and then we had some snacks in our room if we were hungry during the day, so the only meals we had to worry about were our dinners. There was another good inexpensive place near the marina also called the sharkbite, we got something to go there one day and it was very inexpensive and good food. Hope this helps.

Tiki Hut on Wednesday night. $12 ribs...excellent. Shark Bite, Hemingways, Mango Reef all have affordable menu options.

We enjoyed reasonable and good dinners at Horse-Eye Jack's, Tiki Hut and Mango Reef. Horse-Eye Jack's is in the Blue Hills area and is a fun place to go on Sunday evenings with the live music. Tiki Hut is in Turtle Cove Marina. Mango Reef is at RWI resort and has excellent food.

You can order off the lunch menu at Hemingways up until 6pm. It's a pretty good place also.

The Alexandra's Orchid Restaurant has a Caribbean buffet on Mondays that's inexpensive and pretty good, has live music as well.

Salt Mills Cafe is a good inexpensive lunch place. You can combine it with a little shopping nearby.

Pizza Pizza is pretty good pizza place also.

Somewhere on the Beach is an inexpensive place for lunch. It's Tex Mex but they also had chicken sandwiches, etc. The portions were very generous and we took leftovers back to our condo. You can combine it with a snorkeling trip to Coral Gardens.

Calico Jacks,upstairs across from the entrance to 7 Stars

It's an open terrace with a few inside tables. Probably been there 7-8 times and it was always good and inexpensive.

northwest point is 15-30mins drive from all above restaurants. i would plan to do lots of meals in your condo. will you have a bbq or access to one? there are good grocery stores.
you can take lots of things in your checked luggage - peanut butter & jelly, tuna packs, coffee/tea, kids fav cereal, mac & cheese, etc. and take a lot of lg & sm ziplocs, things stale quickly! provo allows you to bring a cooler so long as all contents are frozen. we take meats, juices and lots of premade appetizers. you can also save by purchasing some booze at duty free on way out of US.

Thanks for all of these suggestions! It sounds like the Tiki Hut is a favorite. Somewhere on the Beach sounds great as well because we love Tex Mex. We will probably visit nearly all of these options since our kids could care less about a nice meal (and they would just ruin it if we even tried to have one).

We will definitely be taking items in our luggage for those times that we don't feel like driving anywhere.
