I treating myself to a cruise for my 35th Birthday. My cruise leaves out of PR so I want to spend a fews days in PR any nice hotels anyone can recommend?

Wyndham El San Juan Hotel in San Juan not to be confused with the Wyndham El San Juan Hotel in Old San Juan (as there are two and the first one is much nicer). The Wyndham ESJ in SJ is very ornate, real classy place but expensive. But if you're looking for really good service in a hotel, go with the Intercontinental Hotel which is next door to it.

redmaria - I know some people get confused but there is only one El San Juan. The Wyndham in Old San Juan is not called "El San Juan."

The Caribe Hilton is a nice choice. We have stayed there several times a few years back. I understand it has been renovated since then. We enjoyed our stay there very much.

Good point! Thanks Tom42, I had forgotten about that...but thought maybe for first timers, they may get confused between the two. But you're absolutely right, the one in OSJ is not called the El San Juan, just wyndham.

I second the El San Juan! It is lovely. We stayed there for a week & loved every minute. The grounds & pools were romantic. There were places to eat within walking diatance & we were able to hop the bus to travel to Old San Juan & walk around.
