If you could stay at Cap Juluca, CuisinArt or Mailliouhana. where would you stay?
 

Hi all you wise Anguilla travelers. If you were travelling for the first time in 5 years on vacation with your spouse (no kids) and could stay at Cap Juluca, CuisinArt or Mailliouhana (sp?) where would you stay? Is CJ really worth it?

I hear the spa services at CJ aren't great, and they are at CA (which is also the least expensive of the 3), but the least kids are at CJ. We want great food and service, beautiful beach and calm water, and access to other restaurants/bars. And what about Mailliouhana? Thanks for you help!!!!

I've stayed at Cap Juluca and been to CA, and I would say CJ is worth the extra $$$ if you are going to be staying on the resort grounds a lot or relaxing in your room. We liked the lack if kids.

If not, CA is perfectly nice as well. The restaurant there was a bit too crowded for me, and there were a lot more children - not a plus for me.

Don't know anything about Malli.

Stayed at CJ last summer in a one bedroom private pool villa and it was wonderful. Would love to go back. Have not stayed at the other two but did go by them. Malli was not impressive and CA just seemed like any other resort. Good luck.

I just got back from CuisanArt in November. I have not been to the other two properties. I had every intention of checking out CJ, but never really felt the need once I was there. One thing a visiting travel agent told us while we were there was that CJ is very spread out, and depending on where your room is it could involve a lot of walking. That wouldn't bother me so much, but CuisanArt is very compact without feeling congested.

CA is lovely. The junior suites are spacious and very comfortable with gorgeous views. (I could elaborate if you want.....but they certainly met our expectations and more.) The service was attentive and friendly, and the restaurant was very good (the chef also makes a point of talking to the guests).

We did not use the spa, but I did use the gym every day. The gym is nicely appointed and the spa facility is clean and relaxing. Others commented while we were there that the massages were very good.

CA does cater to children, which was my biggest disappointment. This resort does not look or feel like a kid-friendly place. It feels more sophisticated. (I know lots of people like to travel with their kids. My husband and I prefer to avoid that scene.) This will depend largely on when you choose to go. If you go during school vacations, you may be disappointed. We ran into a few non-school age children when we were there, and by and large it was spacious enough to avoid them and it did not disturb us in the least.

We loved the resort and would go back in a heartbeat. If you would save money and your timing limits the amount of kids, I would highly recommend. I'd be happy to answer any questions as well.

We've stayed to CJ, and checked out Malli and CA. CJ is the pick of the litter for what you want. The beach is spectacular, the food and service excellent, and the accomodations lovely. Expensive, but definitely worth it.

IMHO, CJ was not a 'wow' like everyone claims on this board. Wait until the St Regis opens up. I found CJ's rooms to be very dated.

Is the St. Regis the resort they are building with the golf course?

I've stayed at all three resorts you've mentioned and I guess it depends on what you want; they're all nice. Cap Juluca's rooms are right on the beach. Malli's are a short walk down to the beach. Cuisinart is newer and feels more like a big hotel. For what you mentioned, I would probably try Cap Juluca (we stayed there for our 10th Anniversary and have been going back ever since) or Malliouhana on Turtle Cove. I stayed at Malli in the summer with kids on their Friends and Family package. I like Cuisinart when I go with friends. For our 20th Anniversary, we're trying Cove Castles.
