If you could only pick one island...
My husband and I are in our late 20's and are planning a trip to the Bahamas for 5 days. We just want to unpack and relax and explore one island. We're interested in beautiful beaches where we can walk, snorkel, and swim. We don't want a busy, touristy location, we'd prefer more privacy and solitude. Any suggestions for a great destination would be appreciated!

If you want to keep it in the Bahamas:
Pink Sand Beach on Harbour island or Exumas |
Look into Sammy T's on Cat Island. Great beaches and you'll probably be the only ones on them. Seriously, we never saw another person on any of the beaches on Cat Island.

reconsider your choice.
after going to the bahamas and about 10 other islands in the caribbean I found the bahamaas to be the least desirable. take a look at Virgin Gorda. It is simply amazing. nothing compares with the "Baths" and the incredible beaches, hills, hiking and peacefulness. it is NOT touristy at all. these are the top resorts: www.littledixbay.com www.birascreek.com www.beyc.com |
