Ideas for Nassau

My mother, sister and I went on a 3-day cruise about 18 months ago and stopped in Nassau. My mother had wanted to go there since she was 18. We decided to go out on our own so we went to Paradise Island, did the straw market, and took a short, expensive tour of the city. My mom was very disappointed and didn't even get to see a beach. Well we are going back again in Feb. Can anyone give me any tips or ideas on how to make it up to her and show her more interesting things. Is there a beach I could take her to? She can't snorkel due to diminished lung capacity so those kinds of tours are out. Any help would be so appreciated. Thanks

Take her for a tour of the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island. Their grounds and aquariums are a sight to behold. They also have a great beach.

I just emailed you an excursion sheet with things to do or see in Nassau and Paradise Island with a price list, hope this helps.

Are you taking a cruise again? If not, and you fly in, book in at the British Colonial Hotel on Bay Street, a 30 second walk to the Straw Market. They have nine private acres with a beach. Also, many boat trips to remote Bahamian Islands are available. We just got back from a two week stay over Xmas. A catamaran cruise on the Yellow bird or Tropic Bird(two boats)takes you on a 3 hour cruise through Nassau Harbor Bird, with a Calypso Band, to a remote island where you just bask in the sun on a beach on a deserted outlying cay, which is typical of Bahamian remote islands. your mom may enjoy it. Kim, I'd like a copy of that excurision sheet too please. My husband, daughter and I will be there on a 3-day cruise 1st weekend of Feb. Is it possible to use any of the Atlantis facilities without being a registered guest?? Thanks

To all of you going to Nassau-there are many wonderful things to do but I MUST recommend the Power Boat trip to the Exumas--its amazing-thrilling ride out to beautiful serene white sand islands, gourmet food, rum!! feeding rays, sharks--amazing...

Why don't you post the excursion information on this forum?
