Ideas for August?

Hi

I'm trying to plan a trip to the Carribean with my boyfriend for this August (my birthday and our anniversary :). However, I'm worried about getting caught in a hurricane. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm also looking for all-inclusive packages.

Thanks!

We've been to Playa del Carmen in August 2002 and Nassau in Sept. 2003 both times we had great weather, but barley missed hurricane Fabian in Nassau. Nov. 2005 we were scheduled for Cozumel and had to make a change to St. Lucia at the last second due to hurricane Wilma.

You never know what the weather will bring so you just hope and buy plenty of insurance. We decided this year to go to Aruba the first week of Sept. Again, hoping that since everyone says it is out of the hurricane belt, we won't have any problems, but we still bought the necessary insurance.

We really like AI packages, but due to numerous recommendations, we opted not to go AI in Aruba.

August is typically right in the middle of the hurricane season.

Aruba is outside the hurricane belt.

The Tamarjin has nice AI packages.

Go to the Bahamas and watch the weather daily. If one starts getting close then pull out and head home. Go have fun. You are more likely to have many other problems rather than a hurricane.
