I am close to deciding on honeymoon..... finally!
Found an Apple charter vacation from ST Louis to Punta Cana. Leaves 17aug and nonstop to punta cana... everything else I had been looking at connected thru Mia or Charlotte. So this is great, we can start the honeymoon earlier on the beach!! 7nts for 2200.00..... ANyone know about this resort. Reviews on Tripadvisor look good, only a couple negative ones... Give me all info you can!

MYSTREYLADY, I have not been to the DR since around 1980. So much has changed since then. There are not many adults only resorts there. If we would to go back, I like the look of the Majestic Elegance on the adults only side. It is a brand new property and still has some growing pains, but I liked the look of the resort and it didn't seem abundantly crowded, which is one of the reasons we are getting away from AI's.
My second choice would be the IBEROSTAR GRAND HOTEL BAVARO, but I don't think the Iberostars in the DR are as nice as the ones in the Mayan Riveria of Mexico. It's adults only also.
I'm a Mexico girl, been 9 times, but we have fallen in love with Aruba and plan to return there. A return trip to the DR has not made the list yet. We are leaving for Curacao in a couple of days.

Jenjay, glad you made a decison and hope you have a great honeymoon. Sorry, but I'm not all that familair with Punta Cana and I don't really know anything about the hotel you chose. From my researach my two picks would be the Majestic Elegance and the Iberostar Grand Bavaro since they are adults only.

I can't really help you either, I'm afraid. But I can say that you've done your research about this place, you've found a good price, and that you're excited about the trip--all of these add up to having a great time, in my experience. Just read all of the reviews that you can ahead of time. Take the bad ones with a grain of salt. If you arrive with the attitude that you're determined to have a good time, then you certainly will!
