Hyatt St. Lucia
 

Anyone stayed here and can help me with info? Is there good snorkeling from the beach or nearby? Is the hotel beach nice? What are your general impressions of the place? Any info would be helpful, going to be there in April. Thanks

WE ARE INTERESTED ALSO IN STAYING AT THE Hyatt IN ST LUCIA. WE ARE CONCERNED THAT THIS HOTEL MAY NOT BE ON A PROPER AND TYPICAL CARRIBEAN BEACH, AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO OBTAIN SOME FURTHER INFORMATION AS WELL. I am also very interested in this hotel. I would like to know if this hotel is right on the beach or on a hilltop? Is it a typical beautiful turquoise crystal clear beach with white sand? I heard St. Lucia has darker sand with not so clear water but have also heard different. Help clarify! Thanks

Hi Lily: <BR> <BR>Lisa is right I did stay at the St. Lucia Hyatt for a few nights while on my honeymoon. I was a wonderful experience and the reosrt is beautiful in deluxe pampered way. The beach is just fine and they even bring you cold wet towls to moisten your face when you are out under a palapa on the beach :-) You can read my trip report just type in St Luica and hyatt in the balnks. The pool is to die for :-) There is great snorking near Pigeon Island just down the road. It say the Hyatt is WELL worth the money. The service also was wonderful.

Hello, <BR>I was at the Hyatt in June. It had been open only a few weeks. Lovely. The water is warm, clear, dark blue. Not Grand Cayman blue, but still beautiful. The Regency Club is definitely worth the extra $. Meals tend to be expensive. You can practically fill up on the evening snacks. To save being labeled cheap, rotate gorging nights. We noted one family that clearly fed themselves dinner in the club room every night. It is great for breakfast. The BEST expresso machine. Re: room location. Stay facing the caribbean side. The lagoon rooms are expensive as I recall.If you have stayed at the Hyatt Kauai... THAT is a lagoon. St. Lucia's is a pool. Very, very different. Remember families will tend to stay in the lagoon rooms as you literally swim up to your room.This could mean lots of screaming kids. Also the lagoon side of the hotel may have construction noise as there is another hotel being built. The rooms are nice. Unless you are planning on staying in a suite they are all the same except for view. Do not settle for anything less than a bay view.(Caribbean side.) Good snorkeling near hotel. Have the watersports guy take you out in the little boat to the point near Pigeon island on the caribbean side. Hotel beach is fabulous. Fairly large. Never feels crowded. I have more info re: island. Write if you would like to know. Sorry I took so much space.
