Hyatt Regency St. Lucia

We're planning a stay 4 nights at the Hyatt Regency St. Lucia - in a lagoon swim-up room.
Has anyone stayed at the Hyatt in that type of room? Feedback on the room and the hotel would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Sonia

We're going to be there in April. When are you going?

We'll be there in August. Can you let me know what you think when you return? Are you staying in a swim-up room?

YOu can read my full tirp reprot by pick St. Lucia and Hyatt at the first screen here.

The Hyatt is beautiful with absolutely fabulous service. We did not stay in one of the Lagoon rooms as they were sold out. They looked wonderful from the outside. Our room was beautiful. The Pool is to die for WOW! It is rigfht on jPigeon island so you ahve the atlantic on pone side and Rodney Bay on the other.

YOu will love it.

My wife and I spent a week at the Hyatt summer before last, shortly after it opened. It was fabulous! Service was excellent, staff was very friendly. Beach was beautiful, but a lots of rocks along the edge of the water so wear beach shoes. Snorkeling was only fair. The Hyatt is about a $20 cab ride to downtown Castries, so you might want to share a cab with someone. However, there are several good restaurants closer to the Hyatt which the staff can point you to. The hotel is situated at the end of the island so on one side is the Caribbean, with the Atlantic on the other side. Our room was on the Atlantic side. There is a small "mountain" right next door that I climbed several times for a fabulous view. There is a lot of poverty downtown and not much to do in terms of shopping. But the Hyatt was very relaxing and peaceful, and the staff treated us well.
There is a must-do all day tour of the islands that includes a trip to the Piton Mountains. Take that tour which is done on a catamaran. That will be the only tour you'll need to do. It does include one snorkeling stop which was actually pretty good.
