Hyatt Aruba Restaurant Help, Please
 

Please share your opinion of the Hyatt restaurants. We will be staying at the Hyatt and would like a restaurant with an ocean view, preferably at sunset. <BR><BR>Food quality and service are also very important to us but I would very much like a romantic evening.<BR><BR>I would love to read your opinions and suggestions. I would also consider another restaurant that is within walking distance of the Hyatt.<BR><BR>Just one more question, please. When I read the rants and raves I noticed that people mentioned a very romantic &quot;sunset appetizers&quot; option. Can anyone explain what that is please?<BR><BR>Thanks in advance to all!

Hello. You will love your trip to Aruba. The Hyatt has appetizers &amp; wine (for a pretty high price) under a canapy where you watch the sunset. They have candles, etc. It is a sunset for two. Looks very romantic. We didn't do that.<BR><BR>We did eat however @ the Marriotts I think it is called Simply Fish. For dinner they have tables right on the beach and you can take your shoes off and put your feet in the sand and watch the sunset. It was fabulous.<BR><BR>The one @ the Hyatt looks more romantic, because it is truly just the two of you, but still, the Marriott's was awesome as well.<BR><BR>Enjoy your trip.<BR><BR>Oh, and the Marriott is within walking distance.

I can't remember the name but there is a restaurant at the Hyatt that overlooks a little pond area with black swans, tropical birds and beautiful grounds. It has a glass wall facing the pond but can't remember if you can also see the ocean.

The romantic restaurant at the Hyatt is Ruinas Del Mar. <BR>I agree that Simply Fish at the Marriott is also romantic--we dined there in December. Tables are right on the beach and they serve fresh catches of the day--limited menu.<BR>For a great view reserve a table at Trattoria El Faro Blanco Restaurant at the Lighthouse at sunset.<BR>You can also dine on the beach at Flying Fishbone, one of the most popular dining places on the island--if you don't rent a car the taxi fare will be expensive.<BR>Another special place to dine is at Ventanas Del Mar at the Tierra Del Sol golf course (country club like atmosphere) on Wednesdays with the Surf and Turf Special.<BR>One of our favorite restaurants is Pago, Pago at the Wyndham Hotel not far from the Hyatt. The decor is exotic and there is a pianist playing. The Tahitial Baked Shrimp is delicious.<BR>You can reserve a table online at several of these places before you leave, simply type out the restaurant + Aruba or type out Aruba-dining and access websites. We usually call when we arrive in Aruba to confirm the reservation. We have several other restaurants we like --there's too many to list!<BR>So many choices, have a great vacation!

happy2travel-<BR><BR>I know you were asking Maureen, but we ate at the restaurant overlooking the pond, called Ruinas Del Mar. Let me say that it is beautiful, very romantic setting, but it is all alacarte and not worth the money. My husband ordered steak and I ordered fish. His steak was horribly tough and my fish was dry and tasteless. I recommend you order appetizers and save dinner for somewhere else.<BR><BR>The Radisson resort also has a real nice restaurant overlooking their pond (but you won't see the sunset). Nice service there also.<BR><BR>Tuscany's in the Marriott (inside) is top notch. You must get the Lobster. It was the best lobster that I have ever had.<BR><BR>Enjoy your trip. Well will you be going? I can't wait to book my trip to Aruba again.<BR><BR>

Hi happy2travel. They are both very different. I think that the Ruinas del Mar is more upscale and romantic. But, you can also make arrangements with the concierge at the Hyatt for a private romantic dinner on the beach!

I called the Hyatt about their &quot;Sunset Service (wine and appetizers)&quot; and &quot;Pampered in Paradise (sunset dinner)&quot; packages. <BR><BR>My husband and I went to Hawaii this past summer and I surprised him with a special dinner for two on the beach for his birthday at the Four Seasons on the Big Island. It was phenominal and we still talk about it. Since that was so special, I don't want to do the dinner on the beach because, as crazy as this sounds, I feel like that might take away from the memories of our special night in Hawaii.<BR><BR>I was thinking about doing the Sunset Service but the least expensive package is $75 and only includes a bottle of wine and 3 different cold appetizers. Since we don't usually drink a whole bottle of wine at one time, and the appetizers don't seem all that appetizing, I'm going to pass on that.<BR><BR>So, my next questions is -where can I go, on the Hyatt property, to enjoy the sunset with a cocktail and no dinner? We just really enjoy watching the sunset with a drink. My husband is also into photography and enjoys photographing sunsets. After that we can go to dinner almost anywhere. I am thinking about trying Amazonia Churrascaria. It has no view but the food is supposed to be very good and served in a very unique way. And it is right across from the Hyatt, which is very convenient.<BR><BR>What do you think? Thanks again for your help! It is soooo appreciated!

We had dinner at Amazonia last December and it was really fun! You get a shaker with one end green and one end red and when its turned up green different waiters come by your table with skewers of meat--each waiter has a different type----the red part of the shaker turned up means you need a break! Before that you can go over to the large salad bar and help yourself. Be sure you're really hungry before dining here! Don't show up without a reservation it's a very popular place.

Sorry, don't know much about the Hyatt, our hotels are the Wyndham and the Radisson. You can easily walk between a few of these hotels from the Hyatt and to other restaurants, so you'll have a lot of choices. You'll just to need to ask the concierge at the Hyatt for any info you will need. <BR>The Kokoa bar at the small pier on Palm Beach not far from your hotel has an early happy hour and you'll get a nice view of the ocean and the sunset.
