Hurricane season

I wanted to take a vacation to Playa Del Carmen the first week of October but was informed its hurrican season over there. Are there any other all inclusive resorts on other islands that are in the same price range. I was looking at all-inclusives for 4 nites for $1,500. We're looking for nice beaches and watersports.

Just get travel insurance. Hurricane Season runs from June 1 through November 30 and hurricanes can hit; The entire East Coast and Gulf Coast of the US, the entire Caribbean, the Mexican Caribean, and Central America. On the West Coast, Typhoons can hit during that same time. They can also hit Hawaii.

Try Aruba or Curacao, they're both out of the "Hurricane belt"

Grenada is outside of the hurricane belt, and has accommodations that are AI as well. Check out the Grenada websites.

Hope this helps - have a great time!

I've been to Cancun twice. Once in October (the weather was perfect!) and the other time in February (high season due to the supposedly great weather then). It poured for a week straight the week before I got there. Luckily, the day I got there it had finally stopped raining. I ran into some pretty unhappy people that had been there the week before. I find that whole area to be unpredictable when it comes to weather. If you really want to go in October, I would go.

Grenada has been hit by 3 hurricanes and 33 named tropical storms during the past 120 years.
That's hardly beyond the risk of a ruined vacation.

Aruba 1 hurricane, 13 named storms.
