How much $$ per day in Negril
What is a realistic daily budget in Negril? My husband and I are going to relax, have drinks and eat good food....water sports, etc. are a luxury to us. Given that, what is a realistic daily budget? I have never been to Negril and don't have a handle of the expense of drinks and food there.

Same as the US pretty much, with some exceptions.

I did a guide for a group that went last year that might help, it has some prices for taxis, food, drinks etc.

http://www.alink.com/personal/liz/ne...egrilnotes.htm

Daily budget... hmmm... for us it is about $40 a person. We get our beer as cheaply as possible (it varies greatly from place to place) and spend more on food. You can get a great Jerk chicken meal for 5 US dollars from "three dives" on the cliffs... or a few places across from the beach... (where are you staying?)
There are some pricer place "Le Vendome" etc... I would agree about the same as US...
I would visit Jamaicans.com (westside wanderings) or Negril.com with questions....
Have fun

Hi,
We just got back from Negril. We averaged $100/day for the four of us ( two kids, two adults) on the days that we didn't eat at terribly expensive restaurants and didn't spare the Red Stripe! Negril's great in that there's a wide price range for restaurants. Some of our favorites ( Three Dives for chicken and lobster, Chicken Lavish for conch soup and fried chicken) on the West End are incredibly cheap. I would avoid Le Vendome at Charela Inn like the plague. It got an excellent write up, but was just terrible and EXPENSIVE. Two other recommendations for excellent food, average prices are: LTU, which cost us about $90 for the four of us, and Rockhouse, which was slightly more, both with plenty of drinks. Have a wonderful time!
