Totally depends where you get it, as in the US.

Our favorite spot in Negril gives 3 lobsters, rice and beans and callaloo for $1200J - about $20US. But that's inexpensive and casual...other places in Negril cost more.

We've gotten them on the beach, cooked and ready to go, for $5 each (buying 6 or so) too.

It just depends.....you can pay much more for it, as is the case in the US.

CLarifying the place that we like is 3 Dives on the cliffs. The guy on the beach didn't serve them, they came in a bag and we took them into the kitchen of our cottage and dealt with them (they were cooked tho). He did throw in a couple of limes

Liza,
Is it easy to find people selling lobsters on the beach that are cooked?

Please keep the lobster season in mind when purchasing lobster. Even though places will sell them, lobsters are illegal from April 1 thru June 30. Purchasing during this time only encourages restaurants to ignore the law. The lobster sold on the beach, you'll see vendors with them, are good....but prepare to deal with all the flies if you eat them on the beach. 3 Dives is the best deal for lobster in Negril.

During our recent trip to Jamaica we purchased lobster from the local fishers for $2.00US/pound. It was great.

The beach guys seem to find us...they walk along with a cardboard box of them and ask people along the way if they'd like some (this would be one of those "annoying" vendors you hear so much about in Negril...most of the time I appreciate thte to-my-beach-chair service they provide!).

We bargained for ours as we were buying several.

Yes lobster is out of season now, until the end of June.
