How is Weather in December/January??
I am considering a week getaway w/ my husband this December-January, and Bermuda is off season so the prices are good. Exactly how bad is the weather then? We're New Englanders & love the ocean all year, so 70 degrees seems fine, but would be concerned if it is grey or rainy all the time -- any advice appreciated!

You are only going to find weather in the low sixties to high 50's Dec/Jan. If you are looking for warm weather, go much further south. Even the Bahamas can be chilly at that time.

Nah, Bermuda is a bit warmer than that. I was there mid-December and it was mid 70s during the day and down to around 60 at night... a bit warmer than the average (70 hi, 60 lo). Mind you, it's awfully humid, but even this polar bear found the climate agreeable. Rainfall averages about 5"/mo that time of year, but the locals told me that gray days are rare and most showers pass quickly.

Joanna, I agree with Alex. It's not that cold then. If you'd like to view the past 4 years weather, go to
http://www.bermudaweather.bm/
Scroll to the bottom of the page and put in the month and an exact day. You'll be able to see air and water temperature, humidity, etc. for the timeframe you're looking at.

All the research I've done on Bermuda showed that it was in line to get the same weather as Norfolk, Va. It can get pretty cold there in winter. Not that Bermuda will get Norfolks snow, LOL, but I think the temps can get pretty nippy.

Alex and Elaine are correct- December stays in the 70's with January going a bit lower- it does rain here and it can be gray. Yes- the rain does generally pass quickly... but this is a grey season. Today its about 72 degrees with a mix of clouds and sun. Yesterday was beautifully sunny but windy. Not swimming & suntan weather- but nice still.
