How do I get to Cuba?

I'm looking to book a trip to Cuba for Me & My husband for the Xmas/New Years holiday. What is the best way to book a trip? I live in New York and really do not want to fly North to Canada to take the flight. Where else can I take a flight?

Does anyone recommend a good travel agent that can put together a nice trip?

Would love feedback!

It might be hard from the States to do that trip. You can fly to the Bahamas and then fly from there, but not sure what you do with a Passport and you might need a visa.

Good luck.

Hi Folks:
I live in Toronto, so that is how I go back and forth. However there are other ways for US citizens. You do have to go through a gateway country. As wantsomesun posted, you can fly to Nassau and then to Cuba, or else through Cancun, or through Jamaica. Some of my friends did the Jamaica flip with Air Jamaica and had no problems at all. I think they went through Montego Bay then up to Havana.
As to the passport question. The Cubans specifically DO NOT stamp a US passport unless you ask them to do so. And all you need is a tourist visa, which can be purchased along with your connecting ticket at any gateway country. This tourist visa is just filled out by you while on the flight to Cuba and the Cubans stamp this visa (it is NOT attached to your passport, but is a separate piece of paper) with your entry and exit stamps. So absolutely no problem at all.
You might try checking out the website;
www.cubalinda.com
which books US people. Or from NY, there is always the Canadian option.

Any other questions, just let me know.

There are also direct flights from Cancun -- which is super convenient for a lot of folks on the east coast.

I've also heard that there's a cruise ship to Cuba that departs from Cancun. Sorry...never done it, so no details :-(

Have fun!

I also know people who went from Jamaica with no problems.
