We've stayed there. Places are clean. Restaurant is okay. You can't see Grand Anse Beach though. View is blocked by trees. It's the equivalent of a 3-block walk to the beach.

Why not try Coyaba. It's right on Grand Anse Beach. Or the Mariposa on Morne Rouge Bay. Also, we've stayed at the Flamboyant, which is lovely and has spectacular views but you have to be part mountain goat because of the climb.

Another inexpensive one is The Gem, right on the beach at Morne Rouge Bay.

We stayed at the Coyaba with our daughters a couple years ago. It was only so-so. Clean, but not particularly attractive. There was a uniformed guard and a gate to get onto the beach, it didn't feel too friendly.
We ate at Blue Horizons, and thought the food was wonderful. Flamboyant was a great location and nice people. Or rent a villa - the cost can be less than a hotel room, depending on the season.

We have stayed at Blue Horizons several times. Very well run, clean, pleasant staff, restaurant very good, nice pool. You can't see the beach, but the highest hillside rooms have a nice view of St. George's; others are too low to see much, although the grounds are attractive. A sister property to Spice Island Inn with some use of their beach facilities. The walk is a few hundred yards, but as we rent a car we always cheat and drive.
