Hotels in Aruba

We are attempting to select a hotel for a September visit to Aruba. The Sonesta Suites looks interesting with it's many restaurant choices nearby, small on site beach and access to Sonesta Island. Has anyone been there? What about the Wyndham or Bucuti?

Thanks!

The Sonesta Suites is a great location if you prefer to be in-towm and have the ability to walk to some very good restaurants. The beach is small and man-made but there is a shuttle to take you out to their private sialnd (but island closes at 6pm).

The Bucuti is a small lovely European style resort in a huge expanse of beach in the low-rise area (small pool).

The Wyndham is located on Palm Beach with the other high-rise hotels so you can walk from hotel to hotel and there is also more stuff to do in the high-rise area.

Try this site for good rates:

http://www.travelunlimited.com

Went to Aruba in March. I would not recommend the Sonesta. I think the best that Aruba has to offer is its beaches and the ocean and the Sonesta's in-town location doesn't give you that. I think Eagle Beach is the nicest, we visited the Bucuti it is intimate and basic, the beach is very nice. If you want luxury I recommend the Hyatt (this is on the more crowded Palm Beach, however).

definately stay at the Hyatt is money is not an issue. It was a big highlight. Be sure to rent scooters for the day also. it's cheap and fun.

I think Sonesta Suites is a great choice. But you can also go to another website and find out other people's opinions--www.aruba-bb.com. The site is only for Aruba and is very active. A word to the wise...DON'T USE TRAVEL UNLIMITED. The other post from "Amy" is actually a travel agent from Travel Unlimited and on the Aruba Bulletin Board they received ALOT of bad comments from very happy past customers that they had. In a nutshell from what I read, Travel Unlimited is a very rude and shady company that really does not care about their customers. Try www.mcmtours.com, they ALWAYS seem to get happy, repeat customers.
