Hotel suggestions
My husband and I are planning a vacation to Nassau/Paradise Island in March or April. We are only taking a long weekend (first time away from the kids) so we are really interested in getting the most out of our time alone. We are interested in finding upscale accommodations. We generally like Hyatt resorts, but there are none on the island. Does anyone know of anything similar? We'd like something with activities, but would like to stay away from very loud, "single-ish" places. We are mainly interested in relaxation and GREAT food. We'd like to be near other active areas, but prefer a quieter hotel or resort.

Thanks!

Maybe Ocean Club would work for you? It is not huge like Hyatt resorts, but seems to meet your requirements.

G,

Maybe you would like the Radisson on Cable Beach. It's nicer than the Nassau Beach Hotel and not as big (and loud) as the Marriott next door. It has a nice beach with lots to do.

There are good places to eat nearby (try the local cuisine) and they have long weekend packages which are what we usually do.

Also, March and April tend to have the least rainfall on the average during the year.

Good luck.

Go to the ATlantis. The place is incredible. It's a sight to behold. Eleven pools, water slides, lazy river ride, beautiful aquariums and then there's the "Dig". An underwater replica of what the lost city of Atlantis would look like. Fully stocked with ALL sorts of fish. In credible. There are several gourmet restaurants (not cheap) with great food. The place is an adventure in itself. I've been there three times and will definitely return.

I recently saw a tv promo for Atlantis and was totally intriqued. Gail sounds like she has a winner!

Definately Atlantis all the way!!!
It is the most Beautiful Resort, they have a web sight I think it www.atlantis.com

The Comfort Suites are next door to the Atlantic; they're cheaper, more cozy, and you can use all the Atlantis' facilities free. :)

I would not recommend Atlantis if you are going without the kids! It is truly a family destination. If you want more time alone, try the Ocean Club.

Realized I should clarify my last post -- the Comfort Suites are not actually cheaper (price per night is about even with Atlantis' Beach Tower), however, the Atlantis requires a 6-night minimum stay during peak travel times.
