I read a few years ago about a very smalll hotel in the carribean that featured rooms built out off piers, basically on stilts in the water. does anyone have any idea where this is? thanks.
There was a thread about this not too long ago if I recall. There are very few places in the Carribean. Sorry I can't remember any of the names right now but try a search above.
quick answer--there was only one : punta caracol in the bocas del toro/del drago area of caribbean coastal panama near the costa rican coast. keyword bocas del toro/bustiamante national marine park on google....
I know its not the caribbean ...but I was just doing some research on the Florida keys and I think I saw a resort on one of the islands that has the balcony over the water. Do a google search and you will find it, I cannot remember the name of it.
Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda (higher end priced property) and Long Bay Beach Resort on Tortola (medicore property) both have stilt accomodations but not over the water but on the beach.
