Hotel in Aruba
Three of us are planning a trip to Aruba in November. Looking for quiet beach with good service. Price is not that important. We haven't been to Aruba in 20 years so I am sure much has changed. Ideal vacation is a chair on beach under an umbrellas with a few rum punches woth a drive to town for dinner. Casinos and crowded beaches are less than ideal. Please advise.

hi, rhmiur! I can only speak for Plam Beach but it is more crowded than it was 20 years ago. That said, I wld go w/ Hyatt or Radisson & Radisson if you want a balcony. I did like Marriott last time we stayed there....they have overbuilt thier timeshare properties & it is really crowded down at that north end of the beach.( I am not sure that it is even a Marriott anymore... thinkt hey may have sold but you know the ppty I mean)

Marriott is a crowded small beach. I can't speak for Hyatt or Radisson's beaches, but my guess they will be crowded and noisy (waverunners, watersports, etc...).
I thought the Marriott was a great hotel and the Hyatt's grounds looked very nice as well. Bucuti is a smaller hotel on Eagle beach. I have not been, but it is a hotel that caters to adults. They have a brand new wing called the Tara wing. New rooms/suites. It gets rave reviews from it's customers. I hear the pool is rather plain and not too exciting, but the beach is large and the watersports are over on Palm beach making for a quiet atmosphere. I would check into it and also go to aruba-bb.com It is a bulletin board of aruba frequent travelers. They can give you the scoop on restaurants, hotels, etc.. I used it a lot when we went. The Bucuti Resort is well loved over there too. Good luck! |
Does the difference in Mariott Surf and Marriott Ocean? I did check the Bucati site but it only allows to people two a room. We have total of 3 adults. seems like the room as are big enough to hold 3. Liked the idea of quiet beach. Any help always appreciated.

Palm Beach is definitely not quiet. If that is your main concern, you should focus on Eagle Beach.

I meant to say that I did not like Marriott...the hotel, not the timeshares. I have not stayed @ the timeshares( Marriott Surf Club and Marriott Ocean Club). But, the beach is very very crowded in that area.

The Bucuti allows up to 1) three adults or 2) two adults and one child. You can call 888-4BUCUTI to confirm. The accommodations will be either 2 queen beds, or 1 king and a roll-away bed. I am planning a girls' trip in August to celebrate my 40th birthday and can't decide between the Radisson or Bucuti. But from what you describe, the Bucuti will best fit your needs. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Looks like Bucuti might be best place for reading a book on the beach rum punch in hand.
